<3 Hi! My name is Chelsea Noel Thompson. :) A.k.a. Lil Chef Chels.
Let me start off by telling you a little bit about myself...
The best way I can think of is to tell you my life story, in... Cliff Notes =)
*RF* Random Facts will also be thrown in to keep you entertained (=
Ok... so Most of you will only make it through the first 6-12 lines... but if you have some kind of an interest in me or you just want to know what I've been up to for the past 24 years... well that's a little weird first of all, but its understandable, seeing as one day I will be a house hold name. I'm just letting the Bio out early :) and its FREE to read :) lol ... ok so.. here we go...
* I was Born November the 13Th 1986 In Redondo Beach, California
* I grew up in Carson Ca, with my Mom going to work ever since I can remember , My Dad being the associate Pastor of Hope Chapel Carson & taking care of the church & my little Brother Alex, who at times we would fight, but I love him more than anything... same goes for my parents!! :)
*RF* I LOVE POLiTiCS! http://bloggingouttacontrol.com/2010/11/13/this-day-in-history-november-13-1986/
* I went to A private school in Torrance CA, called "South Bay Junior Academy" from Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.
*RF* At about 8 years old I had decided I wanted to be a chef when I grew up.
* I then continued to Jefferson Middle school (in Torrance, CA) for 7Th grade
* 12 years old, Diagnosed with Renal Failure. Just took Meds to continue kidney function for a while.
* Paris Middle School (in South Redondo Beach, CA) for 8Th Grade.
* I attended Redondo Union High School 2001 & 2002.
* 2002 I found out had end stage Renal Failure & started on Peritoneal Dialyses
* 2002 I started doing "Home Hospital Teaching, with "Cecile" until 2005 when I graduated High School
* In between 2002 & 2003 I had about 6 or 8 surgeries due to the dialysis catheter displacement and 2 studies.
* 2003 "The Make-A-Wish Foundation" Gave My family and I an Amazing experience!! Since I couldn't wish for a future restaurant, my very next choice was to go on the "Disney Cruise" They Flew us to Florida, We stayed 1 night & boarded the ship the very next morning. Traveled to the Bahamas, Got to Para sailing!! It was soo fun & I'm so glad my family got to get AT LEAST a little happiness for ONCE after dealing with all of the my health issues.
* ANYWAYS.. :):):)
* After High School I went to El Camino College To study Contemporary Health, Computers 101, Business 101, and Child Development.
* 2005 My First job besides babysitting babies & toddlers, was taking care of an elderly woman who needed help walking and needed help eating too. She had a nurse, but I was there on the off times. I also watched their 8 year old boy & when the wife of the man who hired me had a baby... I was already there to the rescue.
* I BOUGHT MY FIRST CAR!! :) 1998,Green, 318is,BMW , Coupe! My baby!! :) She took me EVERYWHERE!! She came with 140,000 miles and right now at this moment its up to 295,000 miles on her. I have seen so much and traveled far and wide. All By myself. At the beginning it was just to see if I could leave, go off and take care of myself... be able to go out to eat alone, see a movie alone... just be solo... you know? Well it was addictive and amazing!! And I loved every minute of it from the very beginning.
* 2005 I ended up taking care of all three of them, every day, all day, except for some occasional weekends, they would let me go. lol I would have dinner on the table ready to go every night by the time they got home. I loved having the freedom to make whatever I wanted out of whatever there was in the cupboards or fridge at the time. I ended up having to leave because they were unable to pay me anymore. They ran the bill up a little too high after a while... And just like some of those banks out there have had to deal with the fact... We are never going to see that money..
*RF* I met Shane, My best friend :) Him & I were never a couple, never dated at all. He was just the bestest friend in the world... and I loved to have somebody crazy . That is who saved me from myself after all the solo adventures and discoveries.
* Discoveries are meant to be shared! And the adventures that I have experienced in my 24 years...are unlike any adventures you have ever heard of in your life!
* I even traveled to a place called DiSCOVERY BAY up NORTH :) It was ONE adventure I took solo.
I bought a train ticket online... dropped my car off at union station at 400 am. (cheaper ticket price, lol)
Hopped in a bus that took us to the train lol. And I was on my adventure! Starting from leaving at 4am, that right there was an adventure.. All different kinds of people are out at that time. And at the same time no one is on the street but me... loved it!!
* My next job was working for Togo's in Torrance,Ca as a sandwich maker. Then I worked at Williams Sonoma in the Manhattan Beach Mall, at the same time for a while as a cashier/ food prep.
* I had to quit both jobs because on December 5, 2006 I received a call that my KIDNEY was on its way and I had to meet it at the UCLA hospital ASAP!! :) The next day I had received that kidney from a 22 year old guy named tony. He had gotten in a car accident the day before and each and every one of his organs saved a life, including mine.
* After I healed a little bit, I got right back to working! :) I LOVE to work!! And I got a job at Whole Foods Market in El Segundo as a COOK!! :) I made Pizzas and Pastas, sandwiches, and Polenta Dishes. It taught me more than I already knew from watching THE NATIONALLY KNOWN GENIUS ALTON BROWN on the Food network.
* So they hired 500 workers & 3 months to the day later, they let go 200 employees including me, due to unpredictable low revenue.
* After the massive lay off, which I was extremely disappointed over, because I loved that job so much... I decided to go to
Los Angeles Harbor College To pursue Culinary Arts. And get my Culinary Arts Degree.
* While I was going there, I was working at The Restaurant Islands, in Manhattan Beach, Ca as a hostess.
* An Opportunity came up during my 2nd semester of culinary school where I was able to interview with Universal Studios and since I got the job, I decided to work until the 2nd semester was complete and take a little while off to work full time as a cook!! (=
* Universal Studios ended up being the funnest , most amazingly freeing job I have ever had. I was doing what I loved most in the world. . . COOKiNG! While doing my second most favorite thing in the world on the way there & on the way back, which is... DRiViNG!! :) At work i would Park, Then make my way through the city walk... Go up to wardrobe where I would change into my chef uniform they had provided for me. I would go to my assigned restaurant for the day. Sometimes they would move me around to different locations in the park. But that was what I loved about it... it just made me feel even more needed and I would be happy to move from restaurant to restaurant. I was apart of the huge universal family! :)
* About a Year Later I Went back to school, to finish up and get my degree.
* I had to change jobs, due to long distances and my old lil beamer not being able to make it that far everyday. So I got a job at Fresh & Easy in Manhattan Beach, Ca. I was the girl who got the samples all ready for you, and I swear!!! No matter what job I have... I always LOVE it!! :) It was extremely fun!! I loved to talk to the customers, I loved to answer any food questions they had, Weather it was, "How do I cook this Rib-eye?" or "What temperature should I cook this Pork loin to?" Or What Wine should I pair with this Halibut?" It was awesome!! Because I knew it all! :)
* January 19, 2009 I met Brett Taylor :) We have had the most amazing 2 and a half years together. We cannot wait to get married..
It is DEFINITELY NOT a a hot button topic... We are just waiting to be ready financially and also mature a little more and get OUR OWN lives on track before we have a few other little lives we need to set on the right track.
* After I worked there for a while, I just knew I wanted so much more out of life!! I focused more on school and passing the tests and just trying to do everything perfectly! I Finally the end of school was here & so as of June 2010, I am certified in Restaurant Management, Customer Service, Hospitality, Nutrition & Food Sanitation. Not to mention I can cook just about anything you can think of.
* I searched High and low for a job for about 10 months until I came upon the Chipotle Company.. I am Currently Employed there at Chipotle in Hermosa Beach, Ca. I Love the Job itself. I love making money! That is all I can say about that...
* I am currently trying to find a better job. Somewhere, where they will let me reach my full potential. Somewhere, where they are willing to teach and somewhere NOT So RACiST and NON-DiSCRiMINATORY
* I love to create my own dishes! I love to design menu's! I love to think BiG!!! Because you can only go up...
* I have so many things I want to accomplish! I want My own restaurant! it will be *Italian~Mexican~Fusion~Cuisine*
* I want more than anything to Raise with the help of A LOT of other people and the help of other humanitarians who are yet to be named... I want to one day give $500,000.00 to "The National Kidney Foundation" & $500,000.00 to "The Make-A-Wish Foundation"
<------Click Here to donate to the combined Foundations. (pay pal Account not yet activated)
* When I am older and Many many many years from now, I want to go from school to school to iNSPiRE Young Children To become Chefs!!! Teach kids not to be afraid to cook or just be in the kitchen.. I want to INSPIRE KiDS more than anything!!! That is my End End End goal, when It comes to career.
* As for, Personal Goals, I have not Told ANYONE about this yet, until now... But I want to Have kids.. 2 maybe 3 of my own.. However many god Will allow me :) But I want to adopt a child or two or four or i don't know :) I want to adopt A few young Haitian Children. It is the only 4th World country in the Western Hemisphere. I want to give them an amazing life! An amazing Chance in this Amazing country that we were so blessed to be raised in. (if you really think about it)
* Fourth World Countries have:
- low-income (three-year average GNI (gross national income) per capita of less than US $905, which must exceed $1,086 to leave the list)
- human resource weakness (based on indicators of nutrition, health, education and adultliteracy) and
- economic vulnerability (based on instability of agricultural production, instability of exports of goods and services, economic importance of non-traditional activities, merchandise export concentration, handicap of economic smallness, and the percentage of population displaced by natural disasters)
"WATCH OUT!! THIS PORTION BELOW IS RELIGIOUS"
BUT 100% TURE
* I would also like to donate an unspecified amount of (my personal money not yours I promise!) to my Church Hope Chapel Currently In Hermosa Beach.. Soon to move to Manhattan Beach. They are the Most amazing Church you could ever be apart of. They Make you apart of the family.
It's Welcoming, It's comfortable, you don't have to wear a suit and tie and get all dressed up like your going to a wedding..
Zac Nazarian (The Pastor of hope chapel)... the only non-related persons name I will mention, because he prayed for me every single day!! Every single day until I finally Got my Kidney!
